Care Giver Assistant
Care Giver Assistants assist clients with their routine and self-care activities. They also provide social support and assistance to enable clients to be active in their communities. Care Giver Assistants perform the following functions:
- Entertain clients by talking to or playing games with them or taking them on walks
- Care for and support clients with cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer’s or mental illness
- Assist clients with hygiene-related activities, such as washing, brushing teeth and going to the bathroom
- Move clients to and from a bed or wheelchair
